Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up the following posts in VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital. 1. Eligibility: (i) Citizenship- must be a citizen of India. 2. The details of post, pay scale, Qualification, Experience & Age limit are as under: 3 The upper age limit will be relaxable for Govt. servants upto 5 years & SC & OBC Candidates in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Govt. from time to time. 4 The vacancies indicated above in Para 2 are provisional and may increase or decrease at the time of recruitment. The administration also reserves the right to cancel the recruitment as well as the modified vacancies at its discretion and decision will be binding to all concerned. 5 Medical examination and Police Verification The candidate should go under medical test in Safdarjung Hospital before the appointment. The Character and antecedents of the empanelled candidates shall be verified from the police/civil authorities. Adverse police verification report in respect of empanelled candidates will render them unfit for appointment. Application should be filled in by the candidates either in Hindi or in English in their own handwriting. 7 Applications will be treated as rejected in the cases where candidates do not send the documents asked for or send incorrect and incomplete application for or do not fulfill any of the eligibility criteria. 8 The applications can be either deposited in person at office of Deputy Director (Admn.) 7th Floor, Sports Injury Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi or should be sent by ordinary/registered post addressed to Deputy Director (Admn)., Sports Injury Centre, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. 9 The application containing the application form must be superscribed in bold letters Name of the post applied for. 10 Applications which are not in the prescribed format will be rejected. 11. Applications complete in all respects and along with attested copies of the testimonials must reach to the Sports Injury Centre, Safdarjung Hospital within 45 days from the date of advertisement. Age will be reckoned from the closing date of advertisement. 12. The Candidates should have the requisite academic qualification from a recognized institution for the post applied for at the time of application itself. 13. If a candidate produces false documents, he/she will not only be disqualified/dismissed from services, if afready appointed but may also be liable for criminal proceeding. 14. NOC in the form of undertaking from the employer to the effect that in case of selection, the department will spare the candidate for joining service in the Hospital should be attached with the application. 15. Candidates trying to use any Influence or adopt any unfair means would be disqualified from the selection. 16. Failure to comply with any of the instructions contained in this notification may entall rejection of candidature. 17. In case, the number of applications received is large, the experience/qualification can be raised by the Competent Authority.

About Sic sports injury centre
Sports Injury Centre is a unique Centre one of its kind in India, dedicated to delivering the highest standards of integrated diagnostic, pre-habilitation, treatment, rehabilitation services for sports injuries by arthroscopic management. It is situated inside the campus of VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.
It is inaugurated by the Honble Prime Minister of India on 26th September, 2010 before onset of the Commonwealth Games, 2010 was established with an objective to provide integrated surgical, rehabilitative and diagnostic services under one roof for the management of sports injuries and related Joint disorders. The Centre is housed in a separate seven storey building with two basements.
The Centre has a dedicated floor equipped with the latest electrotherapy machines with a separate hydrotherapy wing including chilled shower, sauna, pool beside a cardio gym and a strength gym. A Biomechanical lab which has stimulator for the training of budding arthroscopic surgeons and an isokinetic machine which is valuable for monitoring post-operative rehabilitation are available at the Centre.
It also houses state-of-the-art Laboratory services, Imaging services with latest equipments for routine and advanced diagnostic services including Digital X-ray, CT Scan, MRI and Bone Densitometry. Internet facilities are available in all rooms and membership of different journals of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine is also available.
The Centre aim to provide an exceptional working environment for its staff focusing on continuous education and quality improvement so as to provide excellent patient care at international standards.
The Centre deals with Sports Injuries (Arthoscopoy) & late sequel of sports injury (Arthritis & Joint Replacement). Both units are supported by dedicated staff consisting of OrthopaedicSurgeons, Anesthetists, Staff Nurses, Technicians and Physiotherapists, who are fully trained and possesses requisite expertise in management of sports injuries One of the unique features of this Centre relates to Physiotherapy Unit, which is well equipped to provide physiotherapy/rehabilitative services to the indoor/outdoor patients with specialized treatment through Hydrotherapy, Biochemical and Isokinetic. State of the art Modular Operation Theatre and Gas Manifold System made operational and surgeries undertaken, well taken by the medical fraternity. The latest and modern diagnostic and Laboratory facilities under one roof, comprising of Pathological/Laboratory examinations and Radiological Imaging Services including MRI, CT Scan, Digital X-Ray, Bone Densitometer have been outsourced under Public Private Partnership mode on revenue sharing basis in the ratio of 26% & 74% with M/s Mahajan Imaging and 31.5% & 68.5% with M/s P. Bhasin Path Lab. These tests/Radiological and Imaging examinations are conducted on CGHS approved rates for all patients and the services are provided round the clock. SIC is also making endeavours to get its surgeons well equipped with the latest medical practices prevalent across the Globe through conferences and workshops during last 4 years:- A workshop on Shoulder Arthroscopy held on 22nd January, 2011. The Faculty of International repute demonstrated the live surgeries were of highly appreciative of the facilities. 10 live surgeries were performed and telecasted during the Annual Indian Arthroscopy Conference held from 9th September, 2011 to 11th September, 2011. The Conference was well attended by faculty of National & International repute. They were carried away with facilities available at SIC. Arthroscopy workshop was held on 5th November, 2011 and live surgeries were performed. Workshop on High Tibial Osteotomy was held on 12th February, 2012 and attended by Dr. Pranjal Kodkani, a leading surgeon in the country. Delhi Arthroscopy Course was held in year 2013, 2014, and 2015. During course, live surgeries are conducted by National & International faculties. There are 8 faculty members comprising of 1 Director, 2 Specialist, 1 Associate Professor, 4 Assistant Professors and 19 Senior Residents (Orthopaedics) besides 1 Sports Medicine Specialist and 1 Asstt. Professor/Sports Psychologist. There are 10 specially trained Physiotherapists to cater to the rehabilitation regimen in addition to 2 Gym Trainers. The faculty of the Centre have to their credit various publications in the International Indexed Journals and have presented their papers in number of National and International Conferences over the last three years. An ICMR sponsored research project on Double Row Rotator Cuff Repair is being undertaken. Further, the thesis studies on Arthroscopy by the Post Graduate students of the Department of Orthopaedics, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College under Shri Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University are being carried out at Centre.
