Aurea is looking for an experienced SaaS Operations L2 Engineer to joinour SaaS Operations team. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated,goal-oriented, team-focused engineer with a passion for supportingcustomer facing services, processes, systems and infrastructure. Thisposition will work to assure the overall availability and performance ofproduction services against availability and quality SLAs. They willrespond to alerts or events that impair or degrade service or could causeoutages that impact availability. They will identify root causes, singlepoints of failure, and eliminate them through remediation and execution.Job DescriptionAs a SaaS Operations Engineer you will be supporting one or more of thecompany's SaaS Products. The products are hosted in AWS and span acrossall the popular technology stacks and deployment architectures. You willbe working within the team of high-skilled professionals, providing alightning fast operations support for the products, fulfilling day-to-dayrequests, working on automating the chores and participating in hugeinfrastructure re-engineering projects. You will be working in "SaaSOperations Support" environment as a part of 24/7 availability team, thatsupposes high personal availability and readiness to provide response,should any critical issues arise.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking with product outages, provide resolution and root cause analysis,including post-mortem description, protocol of the resolution and furthermitigation/prevention actions.Products deployments and upgradesDatabase consolidations and related issuesBuild solutions to problems that interrupt availability, performance, andstability in our systems, services, and products at scaleDevelop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the application,systems, database architecture, and the general application functionalityof our productsKeeping the product operating documentation and knowledge base up-to-dateOverseeing product monitoring systems to provide swift responses tocritical alerts to prevent product outagesWorking in contact with other teams to ensure smooth and documentedchanges to all environmentsParticipating in cross-training, spreading your own knowledge andacquiring new products into your portfolioRequired Experience and EducationStrong experience building and maintaining production systems on AWSusing EC2, RDS, S3, ELB, Cloud Formation, etc. and familiarityinteracting with the AWS APIsDeep experience administering Linux (Centos, RHEL, Ubuntu) systemsExperience with DockerExcellent knowledge of web application technology, including IIS, Tomcat,Apache, elasticsearch, nginx, haproxy etcGood network and filesystem skillsExperience with monitoring toolsDBA experience is a plusSome scripting proficiency will be an advantageRelative autonomy to pick up new skillsGood to have:Effective time-management skillsGood communication skillsRemote working experienceQuick learning skillsTotal compensation is $30/hour for a 40 hour work week.To qualify, please provide a resume/CV demonstrating the requiredexperience and skills.
