Bihar Staff Selection Commission, P.O. Veterinary College, Patna was established by Act No.- 7/2002 of Bihar State for Appointment of Class -3 ( Non-gazetted Post ) in the pay scale below Rs. 6500 - 10500/-. Subordinate service Commission had already been dissolved and Vidayalaya Seva Board has been merged into Bihar Staff Selection Commission after dissolution.

Post of One Chairman and Two Members have been created in Bihar Staff Selection Commission. The Post of Chairman is to be filled up by the Govt. from an officer of IAS Cadre of Secretary Rank and members are nominated by the Govt. from an Officer of Class -I Rank from different Cadre in the Pay Scale not below 14000/-
At administrative level, Post of Secretary and Joint Secretary have been created. They are officers from Bihar Administrative Service. Govt. also post one legal offices to see legal matter of commission.
