The Department of Management Studies is an endeavour that has arisen out of the hard felt need to groom future managers within the NIT system. The DoMS is approved by AICTE and MHRD Govt. of India. The admission in MBA program of DoMS is open to the Indian nationals having a minimum of 3 years of graduation in any stream with a valid CAT/CMAT score. The process of selection includes short listing of candidate on the basis of their CAT/CMAT score followed by GD and PI. The curriculum is a product of philosophy that seeks to amalgamate the best of theory and practice. The pedagogy of DoMS is blend of simulation exercise such as case discussions, live projects and presentation along with the conventional classroom teaching. The evaluation of performance comes by means of class participation, case discussion, report preparation, role playing along with other parameters. The student community in DoMS is drawn from diverse discipline like, Humanities, Commerce, Science and Engineering with the view to provide richness of perspective and opinion. The students undertake variety of projects which include field survey to enrich their experience and refine their skills in management. The DoMS currently offers specialisation in the functional areas of Marketing, Finance, Systems & Operations, Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviour and International Business & Econometrics.
