WBSSC is the commission of the state government of West Bengal which is working under school education department. It came into existence from 1997 with main aim to recruit qualified and talented candidates for assistant teacher and headmasters in government and non-government aided schools. As a provision laid down by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), one can only be enrolled as a teacher in primary schools if he/she acquired minimum qualifications decided by them. In order to check ability and general knowledge of candidates, teacher eligibility test is taken which is mandatory to clear for all those aspirants who willing to make their career in primary schools in standard 1 to 8.
